This itinerary takes first time visitors, as well as those who want more, on a journey to explore the most important as well as the lesser known areas of Rajasthan. Travel, slightly off the main tourist track to some lovely palaces and hunting lodges of the erthwhile maharajas. Experience the vast expanses of the Thar Desert to ethereal Lake Palaces; gaze at the unforgettable Taj Mahal; be a guest of the royal family of Sardargarh and Shahpura; enjoy a sumptuous dinner with a traditional family of Jaipur.
Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Arrive New Delhi, India’s Capital, where you are greeted with a traditional Indian welcome on arrival at the airport and escorted to the hotel for overnight.
Day 02 Delhi – Agra
Check out from the hotel after breakfast for panaromic tour of Old & New Delhi. Drive to Agra, the mughal city in the afternoon.
Day 03 Agra - Jaipur
We start our day at sunrise with a visit to Taj Mahal by Tonga’s (horse carriage) followed by visit of Agra Fort. Later we leave for Jaipur enroute visit the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri.
Day 04 Jaipur
Morning is a good time to climb up to Amber Fort on an Elephant back (subject to availability). We spend the afternoon in the city to visit City Palace, Observatory, Hawa Mahal and walk through the busy market streets of Jaipur. Today evening you are invited for a dinner with a traditional Indian family.
Day 05 Jaipur - Shahpura
Drive to Shahpura, a place where you can rest, refresh and revive yourself. Experience the traditional personalized hospitality of the royal family of Shahpura at their 19th century palace, set in 45acres of garden and pastures.
Day 06 Shahpura - Sardargarh
After a lesisurely breakfast we drive to Sardargarh. The afternoon is yours to plan your two days stay at one of the magnificent forts of Rajasthan built in the yearly 17th century.
Enjoy the warm hospitality of Sardargarh family in the evening.
Day 07 Sardargarh
The day is yours to opt for numerous sightseeing options depending upon your personal interests. Experience the local train upto Goramghat, visit the local handicrafts and articians, the nearby forest reserve of Seem ka magra.
Day 08 Sardargarh - Udaipur
We leave for Udaipur in the morning. Afternoon is dedicated to visit City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Crystal gallery, one of the largest collections of crystals in the world. The evening boat ride on the Lake Pichola is an experience not to be missed.
Day 09 Udaipur - Luni
We leave for Udaipur in the morning, enroute visit the exquisitely carved marble temples at Ranakpur. Talk a walk in the village in the evening for a first hand experience of rural rajasthan.
Day 10 Luni - Jodhpur
The drive to Jodhpur is in the morning leaving time in the afternoon to visit the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant thada and walk in the traditional spice market of the city.
Day 11 Jodhpur - Jaisalmer
Leave for the medieval town of Jaisalmer. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city.
Day 12 Jaisalmer
Morning we leave for an extensive sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer. A walking tour of the fort, visit exquisitely carved havelis of Patwon, Salim Singh and Nathmal. Enjoy the sunset on the dunes with a camel ride.
Day 13 Jaisalmer – Bikaner
Drive to Bikaner in the morning. Visit Junagarh fort in the afternoon.
Day 14 Bikaner – Mandawa
Check out from the hotel in the morning. In the afternoon we visit the havelis with fresco painting in the shekhawati region.
Day 15 Mandawa - Delhi
Morning is at leisure. In time we drive to Delhi airport for flight to onward destination. |
