Day 01 Arrive Chennai
Arrive Chennai, India’s fourth largest city where you are greeted with a traditional Indian welcome on arrival at the airport and escorted to the hotel for overnight.
Day 02 Chennai - Mamallapuram
Explore Chennai in the morning, the flower and fruit market, National Art Gallery museum and St George’s Fort. The evening is at leisure in Mamallapuram.
Day 03 Mamallapuram
All day excursion to Kanchipuram and Mamallapuram; visit the Shore Temple and rock cut murals that adorn the caves here.
Day 04 Mahaballipuram – Swamimalai
You have an early start today for Swamimalai en route stop at Chidambaram temple.
Day 05 Swamimalai – Tanjore
Drive to Tanjore, the ancient capital of the Cholas, visiting Darasuram en route.
Day 06 Tanjore
After breakfast, visit the 11th century Brihadeeswara Temple, Art Gallery and Palace library. Spend the afternoon to visit the Srirangam Temple and Rock Temple at Trichy.
Day 07 Tanjore - Madurai
Drive to lotus shaped Madurai, once the seat of Tamil learning. Spend the afternoon at the Meenakshi temple and Tirumalai Nayak Palace. Optional visit the Meenakshi temple to witness the daily evening ceremony.
Day 08 Madurai - Periyar
Leave for Periyar Wildlife Santuary after breakfast. Check in at your hotel before taking a boat safari for close encounters with wildlife.
Day 09 Periyar
Entire day is at your disposal to explore the spice plantations at Periyar. Optional guided treks in the wilderness, tribal museum visit, elepant rides.
Day 10 Periyar - Cochin
Leave for Cochin in the morning, leaving the afternoon to explore the fascinating cantilevered Chinese Fishing nets, Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace and St Francis Church. Enjoy a Kathakali dance performance in the evening.
Day 11 Cochin – Alleppey
Drive to the Alleppey in the morning to embark our houseboat for the backwater cruise. This is the most romantic way of seeing one of the most beautiful areas of Kerala, relax and watch the world go by, experience the local village life on the backwaters.
Day 12 Alleppey – Kovalam
Disembark from your private houseboat and drive to Kovalam for two nights stay at Kerala’s most famous beach.
Day 13/14 Kovalam
Two days at leisure. Take an ayurvedic treatment to Rejuvenate your body, mind and soul or simply relax in the sun.
Day 15 Leave Kovalam.
In time you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. |
