This superb blend of colourful, vibrant India and the exotic, mysterious former kingdom of Nepal offers you an exciting opportunity to explore the treasures and lifestyle of two magical countries, both wonderfully rich in history and culture. On this incredible trip we sample some of the best this region has to offer, from the exquisite palaces of Jaipur to the Taj Mahal , Palaces of Mughal India and to erotic temples at Khajuraho. For the spiritually inclined people the holy city of Varanasi or Buddhist stupas of Kathmandu maybe the highlight of the trip.
Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Arrive New Delhi, India’s Capital, where you are greeted with a traditional Indian welcome on arrival at the airport and escorted to the hotel for overnight.
Day 02 Delhi
After a leisurely breakfast we take a guided tour of Old & New Delhi. The sights include visit to Qutab Minar, Humayun Tomb, Presidential building, Jama Masjid amongst others.
Day 03 Delhi – Jaipur
Check out from the hotel after breakfast and drive to Jaipur. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the colorful markets of the pink city.
Day 04 Jaipur
Morning is a good time to climb up to Amber Fort on an Elephant back (subject to availability). We spend the afternoon in the city to visit City Palace, Observatory, Hawa Mahal and walk through the busy market streets of Jaipur.
Day 05 Jaipur – Agra
Leave for Agra in the morning after breakfast, enroute visit the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri.
Day 06 Agra
We start our day at sunrise with a visit to Taj Mahal by Tonga’s (horse carriage). Rest of the morning is free for independent activities. Afternoon we tour Agra Fort and Itmad-u-daulah. Return to the Taj at sunset to see it fired by a different palette.
Day 07 Agra – Jhansi – Orcha -Khajuraho
Take an express train to Jhansi in the morning. Visit the temples at Orcha and later drive to Khajuraho.
Day 08 Khajuraho
Today is an easy day. Leave for a guided tour to explore the temple complex at Khajuraho. There is also a sound and light show in the evening that is well worth attending.
Day 09 Khajuraho – Varanasi
The morning is free to pursue your interest. The flight to Varanasi leaves in the afternoon. At sunset enjoy the prayer ceremony on the ghats of Holy River Ganges.
Day 10 Varanasi
The early morning boat ride on Holy River Ganges provides an unmatched view of the ghats and the daily morning ceremonies being performed by the preists. After breakfast we leave for a temple tour of Varanasi. The afternoon is dedicated to the visit of Sarnath where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon following enlightenment.
Day 11 Varanasi – Katmandu
Today is a free day. Our flight for Kathmandu is in the afternoon. Rest of the day is at leisure for you to walk around the city.
Day 12 Kathmandu
We leave for a full day tour of the city including the Durbar Square and Swambhunath
followed by visit Pashupatinath and Boudhnath, giving you an insight of the ancient country.
Day 13 Kathmandu
In the morning visit the ancient capital of Patan and Tibetan Handicrafts center. We spend the afternoon in Bhaktapur, with its fascinating durbar square.
Day 14 Leave Kathmandu.
Morning is at leisure. You can also choose to take a flight for a close up view of Mount Everest. In time you will be escorted to the airport for your onward flight. |
